MOXIBUSTION

The most common way to apply heat in animals is by using "cigars / sticks" of dried leaves of a plant – Artemisia spp. – known as mugwort.

These "sticks" after being lightened up, burn very slowly on a close distance to the acupuncture points, which allows the desired thermal effect and has beneficial effects on specific and particular pathologies.

This technique should not therefore be held in small, enclosed places, due to the intense smell the combustion of Artemisia causes.
